Our Story

A Beautiful Place to Stay

Condos at the Creek is a vacation rental resort inside the Black Creek Sanctuary, a nature preserve set against the Jersey Highlands and the Kittatinny Mountains in Vernon, New Jersey. The community is a secluded group of upscale condominium townhomes, built for people who want a proper home base rather than a hotel room. Mountain Creek sits directly next door. It is the largest ski area in New Jersey, with 167 skiable acres and forty-six trails, and in summer the same mountain becomes a water park. Ski, snowboard and snow tube through the winter, then come back in July for the pools and the slides.

The Sanctuary

The Creek Runs Right Past Your Door

A few steps from the townhomes, the Black Creek winds through a protected wetland. Stay quiet and still and you will see the waterfowl, the fish and the wildlife that live in and around the clear water. Less than four miles up the road, the Black Creek Site preserves nearly ten thousand years of Lenape history. More than six thousand artifacts have been recovered there, and it is one of a small number of Native American sites listed on both the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. A hiking trail leads to an outdoor classroom, and recovered pieces are on display at the Vernon Township Historical Society Museum.

Communal gas grills for barbecuing, a firepit that opens at weekends, and a playground to wear the kids out. Private grills are not permitted anywhere in the community.

A swimming pool through the summer months and a hot tub open in the evenings. Both run on a seasonal schedule, so check the current hours when you book.

Winter on the Mountain

Mountain Creek is directly next door. Ski, snowboard or snow tube on the largest ski area in New Jersey, then walk back to a warm condo.

Summer at the Water Park

The same mountain turns into Mountain Creek Water Park once the snow goes. Back in the community there is a pool, a hot tub and a courtyard built for grilling.
